Why is ashoka not in revenge of the sith

In the movie, the scene takes place on Coruscant with Windu present and the rest appearing as holograms. It ends with Yoda's warning they use " great care " when dealing with the Chancellor, before the scene cuts to Anakin meeting with Palpatine.

The Clone Wars , however, shows the scene from the perspective of Ahsoka and Rex. In this version, the Jedi are all holograms and they're discussing Palpatine just before Ahsoka and Rex enter the room to give their report on Maul's capture. The scene then continues beyond what's shown in the movie as they discuss Ahsoka's future, but it's the very inclusion of her in this scene that confirms just how close Ahsoka is to the onscreen events in Revenge of the Sith.

Ahsoka wasn't yet created when Revenge of the Sith was filmed, which is why a character as important as Anakin's padawan is never mentioned in the movies. Instead, The Clone Wars has been clever with how they're keeping Ahsoka removed from the main action of Revenge of the Sith 's climax, but still involving her in the saga's overall narrative. Her role in the Siege of Mandalore and especially her duel with Maul are big moments for Ahsoka's character, further exploring her complicated relationship with the Jedi just as Anakin is about to sever his ties with the order completely.

Only one episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 remains, and it has a few plots it needs to wrap up before all is said and done.

Even though in this episode, Ahsoka manages to help Rex get his inhibitor chip out of his head and thus prevent him from killing her, it's not like she had time to do that same thing for all the other bazillions of Clones. But that's not the issue. The issue is that Ahsoka had intel about Anakin Skywalker. She was told by a somewhat? Here's how the scene goes down. This scene plays out beat-for-beat how it happens in Revenge of the Sith ; the difference being everyone is a hologram because it's from the POV of Ahsoka.

Rex and Ahsoka walk in right after Yoda says "To a dark place this will take us. Great care we must take. Ahsoka says she "Did her duty as a citizen. This implies Ahsoka was thinking about coming back to the Jedi Order before Order 66 happened, but that she really wants to get in touch with Anakin first.

Naturally, the audience knows this isn't going to happen because Anakin is about to go ballistic and kill Mace Windu to save Palpatine. Still, in this brief moment, none of that has gone down yet. Mace and Yoda heavily imply that they are concerned about Palpatine not giving up his power but can't get into details because "these matters are for the council to discuss.

After everyone signs off of the holographic conference, Yoda sticks around and asks, "Ahsoka, more to say have you? Basically, Yoda knows something is up, and even presses her: "A message for Skywalker, perhaps? In doing so, she becomes the only person in the Star Wars canon who could have legitimately stopped Palpatine from getting away with literally everything.

I'm not here to criticize Ahsoka. Not at all! From her point of view, Anakin needed help and she senses the Jedi Council were not the people to help him.

At the end of season 5 of The Clone Wars , Ahsoka was falsely accused of a crime and stripped of her rank and title by the Jedi Council and handed over to a military court to be tried for treason, with Palpatine himself acting as judge over the trial.

Anakin presented evidence exonerating her at the last second before Palpatine found her guilty, but when she was invited to return to the Jedi, she rejected the offer , having lost faith in them after her experience, also fueling Anakin's own existing distrust of the Jedi Council.

Ahsoka went off on her own and learned more about the galaxy and her place in it, coming to a more mature understanding of her relationship to the Force and the Jedi, making her exactly the person Anakin needed to confide in during his last days as a Jedi, and they were even reunited in The Clone Wars season 7 at just the right time for her to provide this support, but Palpatine's "capture" by the separatists conveniently stopped that from happening as Anakin and Obi-Wan rush off to rescue him as depicted in the opening scene of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Obi-Wan was concerned about the Jedi Council's priorities, but Ahsoka pushed back, which she wouldn't have done before she left the order, accusing him of playing politics, saying that's why the people of the galaxy are losing faith in the Jedi. Obi-Wan tried to counter her by saying the people of Coruscant need their help now, but Ahsoka quickly replies "no, the chancellor needs you. Her willingness to speak up and especially her awareness of Palpatine's hold over the Jedi is exactly what Anakin needed just a few days later.

Maul even tried to warn Ahsoka of Palpatine's plans for Anakin during their duel, so if Anakin had joined Ahsoka on Mandalore, Palpatine's manipulation may have completely unraveled, and without Anakin on his side, his chances of overthrowing the Jedi would be virtually diminished.

Ahsoka not even being mentioned in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith has always made her feel a little out of place in other stories in Star Wars canon, but this flips the situation on its head, making Ahsoka, or rather her absence, one of the most important parts of Revenge of the Sith.
