I say to folks, if you're an oncology researcher and you're looking at statistics and numbers all day about cancer, you're not looking at the emotional side of it or the impact that cancer has on a person's life. You're just looking at numbers and slides and you know what the results are, and you might know that it's going towards the greater good, but it's not personal.
